2025 Ford Explorer

The 2025 Ford Explorer is available in four trims: Active, ST-Line, ST, and Platinum. The Active trim features 18-inch aluminum wheels with a Carbonized Gray finish and a black mesh grille with signature LED lighting. The ST-Line adds 20-inch machined aluminum wheels with black-painted pockets and body-color accents on the front and rear. The performance-focused ST trim has a sport-tuned suspension, 21-inch aluminum wheels with performance tires, and a specific ST grille with red ST badging. The top-tier Platinum trim showcases a satin aluminum finish grille, chrome accents, and 20-inch bright machined-face aluminum wheels. A black-painted roof option is available for ST-Line, ST, and Platinum trims.

The Active and ST-Line trims are powered by a 2.3-liter EcoBoost I-4 engine, producing 300 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. The ST trim features a 3.0-liter EcoBoost V-6 engine generating 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. The Platinum trim utilizes a 3.0-liter EcoBoost V-6 engine, delivering 365 horsepower and 380 pounds of torque. All trims come equipped with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The 2.3-liter EcoBoost achieves 20 mpg city and 29 mpg highway with rear-wheel drive, while four-wheel drive models get 20 mpg city and 27 mpg highway.

The 2025 Explorer comes standard with Intelligent 4WD and the Terrain Management System across all trims. The system offers seven drive modes: Normal for everyday driving, Eco for optimal fuel efficiency, Sport for enhanced performance, Mud/Ruts for challenging off-road conditions, Sand for maximum torque in sandy terrain, and Grass/Gravel/Snow for improved traction on slippery surfaces. The ST trim features a specially tuned suspension for enhanced handling. All Explorer models can tow up to 5,600 pounds when properly equipped.

A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 13.2-inch center touchscreen with SYNC 4 technology are standard across all trims. Ford Co-Pilot360 Technology comes standard on all 2025 Explorer trims, featuring pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, a blind-spot information system with cross-traffic alert, and a lane-keeping system. The ST and Platinum trims add a 360-degree camera system for enhanced visibility during parking and low-speed maneuvers. The Platinum trim includes Active Park Assist 2.0, providing automated parking assistance for parallel and perpendicular spaces.
